The national class action lawsuit, In re: Blue Cross Blue Shield Antitrust Litigation, addressed Provider Plaintiffs’ allegations that BlueCross plans across the nation violated antitrust laws by illegally dividing the U.S. into "Service Areas" and agreeing not to compete in those areas and fixing prices for services provided. The case was settled and the court approved the settlement on August 19, 2025. The Settlement became effective on September 19, 2025. The time period in which physicians and others in the Provider Class had to file claims for monetary recovery, absent a showing of good cause, has expired and the next step is making sure your claim notice is acknowledged by the Settlement Administrator.

As the TMA legal department does not have access to portal information, you should utilize the “FAQs” and “Contact Us” resources on the Settlement web page if you have questions about the Settlement or your share of the Settlement proceeds. TMA’s legal department is working with Provider Plaintiffs’ counsel to provide information about the Settlement to TMA members.
