Dr. Gene Huffstutter Voted TMA President-Elect
NASHVILLE, TENN. — Gene Huffstutter, MD, a rheumatologist with Arthritis Associates PLLC in Hixson, Tenn., has been named President-Elect of the Tennessee Medical Association following a February election among its 10,000 members.
Dr. Huffstutter will serve one year as President-Elect, one year as President and one year as Immediate Past President. His primary role is to serve as the face of the organization and spokesman for TMA with its membership, the media, government officials and the citizens of Tennessee. His formal installation will take place at the TMA’s annual meeting in 2026. Dr. Huffstutter has served on the TMA Board of Trustees for four years, having been its Chairman since 2023.
TMA will install John McCarley, MD, a nephrologist with Nephrology Associates in Chattanooga, Tenn., as its President during this year’s annual meeting on May 17, 2025.
