How to Access Legal Resources on TMA’s New Website

TMA recently transitioned to a new website and the method to access a Law Guide topic or Legal Resource has changed a bit. When you click on a hyperlink in a story below, you will be directed to the Legal home page. The first box you see states that Membership Login is required.

1. Click on the Log in to Info Hub bar and enter your Username and Password.

2. On the left side menu bar, click on Resources.

3. If you are accessing a Law Guide, click on Law Guide (the first box).

4. For a horizontal view and to alphabetize the topics, click on the 2nd green box on the far right near the top of the page

and then click on “Title” in the first column.

Corporate Transparency Act

This federal law requires any company that is registered with the Tennessee Secretary of State’s office (i.e., a PC, LLC) to report beneficial ownership information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network before 1/1/2025. Review our Law Guide, Corporate Transparency Act, to determine if you must report and how to file the report. Reporting is done electronically, is free, and should not take too much time.

Med Spas

A practice may have to register as a med spa, pay an annual registration fee, and meet other requirements based on the number of patients receiving cosmetic medical services and how it advertises its services to the public. The Board of Medical Examiners is assessing penalties for failure to register and late renewal/failure to renew a med spa registration. Domestic Abuse & Sexual Abuse Reporting

New Employee Reporting LG topic

All employers doing business in Tennessee are required by state and federal law to report all newly hired and re-hired employees to the Tennessee Department of Human Services. This requirement is applicable regardless of the number of employees in a company.
