TMA Announces New Staff Hires for 2026
NASHVILLE, TENN. – The Tennessee Medical Association (TMA) announces several additions to the staff in the Government Affairs and Education departments, positioning the association for continued growth and success in its mission.
Angela Holmes joins TMA as the new Grassroots and Legislative Affairs Manager to oversee TMA’s Political Action Committee (TMA PAC) and promote member engagement in state legislative activities. Holmes will work with member physicians to serve as Doctor of the Day at the State Capitol while allowing the physicians to spend the day advocating for good healthcare policy at the state level. Angela has More than twenty-five years of political and campaign experience at the local, state, and federal levels. She also currently chairs the City of Hendersonville’s Lakeshore Committee.
Melissa Carro assumes the position of Assistant Director of Programs, overseeing operations of the John Ingram Institute for Physician Leadership and the Opioid Abatement Council Grant activities. This includes the Know More campaign, a state grant initiative to curb misuse and abuse of opioid prescriptions. Carro is a published author and experienced communicator, bringing years of expertise to TMA having worked in the academic and medical departments at Vanderbilt University.
Christian Lampley takes on the role of Government Affairs Administrative Assistant, supporting the association’s lobbying team, legislative committee and TMA PAC functions. Lampley serves in a critical role, ensuring the administrative functions for all advocacy efforts are effectively managed on a daily basis. With eight years of experience in healthcare, Christian brings a well-rounded knowledge to the job.
