TMA Board of Trustees Meets to Review Budget and Approve Association Initiatives

The Tennessee Medical Association's (TMA) Board of Trustees gathered at the headquarters in Nashville on Saturday, Nov. 4 for their quarterly meeting.

The board tentatively approved the budget for the 2025 fiscal year. Appropriate adjustments were made in order to allocate resources to advance TMA's mission.

Various initiatives were reviewed by the Board in advance of 2025. Those included:

  • Approval for the funding of a membership marketing research campaign
  • Nominations and elections for leadership positions in the association
  • Approval of governing principles for the creation of a Senior Physicians Section
  • Finalized legislative strategy to posture the association for success in the upcoming session, which includes the formation of the Prior Authorization Committee and consultation for TennCare payment reform.

Additional discussion surrounded the general state of the association as well as membership recruitment needs.

The next Board of Trustees meeting will take place on Jan. 18 at the TMA headquarters in Nashville. For more information, reach out to TMA's Director of Executive Services and Governance, Amy Campoli, at amy.campoli@tnmed.org.
