Dr. George R. “Trey” Lee, III Voted TMA President-Elect; New Board and Judicial Council Members Elected


NASHVILLE, TENN. — George R. “Trey” Lee, III, MD, a Neurologist and founder of Real Time Neuromonitoring Associates in Nashville, is the President-Elect of the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA) following a February election among its 10,000 members.

Dr. Lee will serve one year as President-Elect, one year as President and one year as Immediate Past President. His primary role is to serve as the face of the organization and spokesman for TMA with its membership, the media, government officials and the citizens of Tennessee. His formal installation will take place at TMA’s annual meeting in 2027. Dr. Lee has served on the TMA Board of Trustees for two years. He was named Speaker of the House of Delegates in 2025 and will serve in that role again at the association’s Annual Meeting in May.

TMA will install Gene Huffstutter, MD, a rheumatologist with Arthritis Associates PLLC in Hixson, Tenn., as its 2026-2027 President during this year’s President’s Luncheon at the Annual Meeting on May 2, 2026.

The following members were also elected to serve in leadership roles on TMA Board of Trustees and Judicial Council.

  • Region 5: Brent Staton, MD, Cookeville, Family Medicine
  • Region 7: Randall Pearson, MD, Oak Ridge, Urology
